HANDLING COMPANY
Tour for UHC personnel
27 September 2022
World Tourism Day is celebrated annually on September 27. It is a great opportunity to remind ourselves and those around us about the possibility to travel, open new places and get fresh experiences.
It has become a good tradition for the team of Universal Handling Company to make one-day tours in the summer-autumn periods. This year, the company has organized a free tour for its employees and their families to the Aleksandria park in Peterhof. The event was held with the support of UHC primary organization of RF Water Transport Workers’ Trade Union.
The transfer to Peterhof by a tourist coach and the walk across the territory of the palace and garden complex was accompanied by an interesting guiding. The port workers visited the family nest of the Romanov dynasty’s four generations. On the way to Aleksandria they saw the city quarters keeping the memory of the past. They visited the Cottage Palace and the Farm Palace.
Pavel Gulyayev, a group mechanic:
– That was an amazing tour! The park is very interesting. I have lived for so many years with no idea about its existence! The place is worthwhile – the fleet of Kronshtadt was run from that site, there was a telegraph there. The story told by the guide was very interesting and exciting. My wife and my daughters, 14 and 17 years old, were especially fascinated with the palace interiors. All rooms are of various designs with napkins, vases and other beautiful things making the place cosy and distinctive. My family liked the tour. It was my first trip while my daughters took part in the previous year tour to Vyborg with the port colleagues.
Galina Popova, deputy to warehouse manager:
– I was with my daughter, Alisa, she is the first-grader. We had been to Peterhof with its fountains before but it was our first time in Aleksandria. We liked strolling around the park, visiting the palaces and listening about them. The guide put her heart into the story. Her commitment could be felt, it was not just “look right, look left”. We visited the Gothic Chapel and learned how the services were held there. I like the idea of corporate tours as they keep us as one team.
