Cargo turnover of the Multipurpose Reloading Complex  has increased by 40%

In the 1st half of 2017 “Multi-Purpose Reloading Complex, LLC” (MRC) in the port of Ust-Luga (Leningrad region) handled over 2.78 mln tons of cargoes, which is by 41% more than during the same period of last year. 

The positive dynamics was mainly conditioned by 50% increase in the exports of power coal – up to 2.756 mln tons. Within the reported period MRC also handled new export cargo – petcoke – in the volume of 26 th.tons.  

MRC has coped with the growing cargo traffic by means of higher intensity of handling of gondola railcars with coal and overall growth of labour productivity, which became possible due to the implementation of the development programme envisaging renewal of equipment and purchase of new machinery. The latest buy of the company – two reloaders LIEBHERR A 934C. The equipment shall be used for handling of export coal – the main cargo of the company. 

For 6 months of this year the average daily rate of railcars handling at the terminal increased by 58% and totaled 215 units, whereas the maximum rate grew by 5.7% up to 316 gondola railcars per day. 

In total MRC handled 38 846 gondola railcars and 66 transport vessels.
