Cargo turnover of the Multipurpose Reloading Complex  has increased by 30%

28 April 2017

In the 1st quarter of 2017 “Multipurpose Reloading Complex”, LLC (MRC) in the port of Ust-Luga (Leningrad region) handled 1.28 mln tons of export power coal, which is by 30% more than during the same period of last year.

The positive dynamics was mainly conditioned by the increase in the exports of the product by the major clients of the company due to favourable market situation on external markets.

MRC has coped with the growing cargo traffic by means of higher intensity of handling of gondola railcars with coal and overall growth of labour productivity, which became possible due to the implementation of the development programme envisaging renewal of equipment and purchase of new machinery.

For 3 months of this year the average daily rate of railcars handling at the terminal increased by 33% and totaled 203 units with maximum rate of 305 gondola railcars per day.

In total MRC handled 18 285 gondola railcars and 35 transport vessels.
